Sinossi

Encaixou perfeitamente. ❤
3.5 Stars - a unique style of storytelling, using the format of a jazz song to tell us about Billie Holiday's life. Not very in-depth, just meant to give you a taste, as much as you can know about a woman by listening to her sing for a few minutes. It did make me want to find some of her music thoug Leggi tutto
After teaching about Billie Holiday in my music class, this was a nice follow up for myself. More in depth than I gave my class, but still just scratches the surface. She had such a hard life and made some choices that impacted her life indefinitely. The way this was done was a nice way to start to
This covers the life of one of the greatest voices ever recorded. Her life like her music was full of despair with a note of hope & perseverance. Her genius is well represented with the style & class fitting her generation. Does more than your typical music memoir.
I did not know who Billie Holiday was. Now I do. As some other people have said, this is a very fragmented book, but it also just feels like someone writing about her, because they are really glad about what she did.
