E finirà anche l'amore con Alejandro, che come un uragano arriva e se ne va lasciando una scia tangibile e duratura. Culmine dolente della rievocazione è una donna che la protagonista ha avuto accanto per tutta la vita: la fragile Birgitte, che porta in sé un angoscioso segreto da decifrare. In quattro ritratti dalle pennellate delicate e precise, e senza rinunciare a un sottile umorismo che strappa qua e là il velo di nostalgia, Ia Genberg solleva domande sulla natura delle relazioni e su come raccontiamo la nostra vita, ricordandoci che le persone care non scompaiono mai davvero, perché ci compongono. Anche quando di loro restano solo i dettagli: un gesto, una canzone, una speranza tradita, una dedica d'amore lasciata in un libro.
