Sinossi

Bronstein's Children is a brilliant book about post-war Germany and it deserves more attention - both in Germany and internationally. Set in the 1970s in East Berlin, the plot focuses on the 17-year-old Hans, the son of parents who survived the Holocaust, Elle, his 36-year-old sister who was hidden
I'm basically undecided on how to rate this book justly. Although it is a very well-written book, and I can't say that I didn't enjoy it in parts, much of the story seemed to be unfinished and even confusing. The book is about 18-year old Hans Bronstein (the name Bronstein wasn't mentioned at the be Leggi tutto

Had to read it for school and back then I did not like it. After 10 years I think the book is a great novel which shows how much the WWII can effect the people. The chapters switch between years and I would suggest to always write down which year the chapter is. The chapters themselves do not have any Leggi tutto
A wonderful example of confused loneliness. You can't like it. You can just say, it crept under your skin and lingered there till the end of the book.
