Sinossi

Good grief! WTH! But it has its moments.
I love it. I just...love it. It probably makes me a bad person, but I love the assumption of all of Bierce's characters that they are decent people. "Whether or not [hypnotism] could be employed by a bad man for an unworthy purpose, I am unable to say," says the protagonist after mesmerizing his par Leggi tutto
The least I can say about this work is that it is elegant! This collection reflects the wonderful creativity of an author who wrote mostly during the 1800s and up to the early decades of the 20th century; that is to say a long time prior to the emergence of neuroscience, neurocognitive theories, and Leggi tutto
A quick, amusing read that appealed to my sense of humour.
