Sinossi
Una stretta amicizia lega Jack e Wynn. Si incontrano al college, il primo laureando in ingegneria, il secondo in lettere, e scoprono di avere caratteri diversissimi, ma una magica sintonia. Amano entrambi le avventure e il contatto con la natura, e durante le escursioni non fanno altro che parlare di letteratura. I classici, certo, ma anche quei romanzi che scorrono via senza pretese, come gli onesti western a tinte fosche da leggere accanto al fuoco, la sera, mentre arrostiscono le trote. Quando partono per risalire in canoa il fiume Maskwa, nel nord del Canada, pregustano giornate all'aperto, pagaiando, pescando, e nottate sotto le stelle, accampati sulla riva a leggere e a dimenticare le delusioni d'amore. Ma il diavolo ci mette la coda, e le cose prendono una piega del tutto diversa. A little too slow-building and descriptive for me. There is some intense, suspenseful moments, but the detailed and somewhat repetitiveness stalled the flow of the story.
