Sinossi
"L'invenzione di Morel" è il romanzo più celebre di Adolfo Bioy Casares, uno dei narratori più originali della letteratura latinoamericana del Novecento. Pubblicato nel 1940, esce oggi in una nuova traduzione di Francesca Lazzarato, che ne ha curato anche la postfazione. Fortemente ispirato all'"Isola del dottor Moreau" di H.G. Wells e ai racconti di E.A. Poe, questo romanzo visionario narra le avventure di un fuggiasco che, sbarcato su un'isola deserta per evitare la condanna all'ergastolo, scopre di non essere solo come credeva. In bilico tra il terrore di essere identificato e la frustrazione per il desiderio di essere riconosciuto, il protagonista si ritrova sospeso tra realtà e irrealtà e inizia a seguire, osservare e spiare gli altri isolani. Sarà infine il misterioso Morel a fornirgli le chiavi di lettura di un mondo allucinatorio costituito da pura forma.
