Sinossi
In questo, che è il primo romanzo della serie, due ragazze a Oxford attendono alla fermata l'ultimo autobus per Woodstock. Il bus è in ritardo e le due ragazze si incamminano a piedi sperando di trovare un passaggio. E lo trovano perché dopo un po' una macchina si ferma e le fa salire a bordo. Passaggio fatale per una delle due, che verrà ritrovata assassinata poche ore dopo. L'ispettore Morse inizia l'indagine con l'aiuto del sergente Lewis, suo aiutante (in questa e in tutte le avventure che seguiranno). La verità si fa strada con difficoltà e non sarà una scoperta facile né felice.

Actual rating 2.5/5 stars. Growing up, it seemed like a rerun of either Morse or Midsomer Murders was always on the TV.
