Sinossi
Jo March, ora sposata al professor Bhaer, lavora insieme al marito alla Plumfield School, una sorta di casa-famiglia dove i due coniugi si prendono cura dei ragazzi che gli vengono affidati. Alcuni di essi sono "difficili", ma trovano in Jo e nel professore due insegnanti disposti alla fatica di dosare, diversamente per ciascuno, impegni e traguardi. L'integrazione tra studio e lavoro, la convinzione che la bontà valga più della forza, e che se un ragazzo sbaglia il primo responsabile sia l'educatore, rendono quest'opera davvero unica: una difesa della non violenza e un chiaro riconoscimento dei diritti dell'infanzia. There is not another book in all of literature that I hold as dear as this one; I never expect to find another that gives me half as much pleasure. It would be impossible to count how many times I've read it over the years (it has to be dozens and dozens by now), and it remains a locale of constant
I adore the book 'Little Women'. I read that when I was much younger. I have read much more widely since then and I have become accustomed to the modern pacing. My point is, I think I would have enjoyed this a little bit more when I was younger. As a modern reader, pacing and stories have changed. T Leggi tutto
