Sinossi
Yejide e Akin sono giovani e innamorati, si sono sposati subito dopo essersi conosciuti all'università di Lagos, in Nigeria. In molti si aspettavano che Akin volesse prendere numerose mogli, ma lui e Yejide sono felici, la poligamia non fa per loro, non è un desiderio, né una necessità. Quattro anni più tardi, però, il pensiero di non aver avuto ancora dei figli comincia a divenire ingombrante. Hanno provato di tutto, medici della fertilità e guaritori, cure improbabili e strane miscele di erbe, ma Yejide non è riuscita a rimanere incinta. È comunque fiduciosa, sicura del suo matrimonio e nonostante le pressioni della suocera e le tensioni con il marito, dà per scontato di avere ancora del tempo, finché un giorno la sua famiglia non suona alla porta presentandole una giovane donna, la seconda moglie di Akin.
