La partecipazione alla cultura di strada e alle vicende dei suoi protagonisti consente a Bourgois di descrivere le relazioni sociali che strutturano l'economia clandestina, i processi di costituzione delle gang e delle loro gerarchie interne, la formazione di nuove figure identitarie e sistemi di valori. 4.5/5 This book was hard to read at times, but I'm glad that Bourgois didn't sanitize the experiences or dialogue of the people in the book.
