I loved this book. Having read many books over the years about Roman history I found Stephen Dando-Collins' interpretation about the tenth legion to be both exciting and detailed. If you think history is boring then this book will change your mind.

Absolutely fantastic read on the day-to-day of the average Roman legionnaire. Incredibly detailed look at how they were raised, trained, paid and eventually retired.

An interesting book with lots of information on Roman armies throughout the history of the late Republic and Empire. It suffers a little from writing that can be a little too disjointed, unfocused, and informal. Overall though, it's a pretty good book on Roman history, especially for those intereste Leggi tutto
