John Birmingham ci fa scendere nell'inferno delle case coabitate, in cui ogni girone si rivela più allucinato e incredibile e ci racconta, a venti anni dalla sua prima uscita, che non è cambiato poi molto. La necessità di condividere un appartamento per sostenerne i costi è ancora parte integrante della vita di molti giovani, e non più giovani.
