Un giorno, rientrato a casa dopo pranzo, Hercule Poirot trova una donna visibilmente arrabbiata che lo aspetta davanti alla porta. Si chiama Sylvia Rule e vuole sapere perché Poirot le ha mandato una lettera accusandola dell'omicidio di Barnabas Pandy, un uomo di cui lei non ha mai sentito parlare né tantomeno ha mai incontrato. Poirot cade dalle nuvole: non ha nessuna idea di chi possa essere Barnabas Pandy e sa benissimo di non aver mandato la lettera a cui Sylvia fa riferimento. Ma non riuscendo a convincerla del contrario, lei se ne va infuriata. Immaginate poi la sorpresa quando, ancora turbato, Poirot entra in casa e trova un altro sconosciuto, un certo John McCrodden, che sostiene di aver ricevuto la stessa lettera con la stessa accusa nei suoi confronti. I really wanted to like this book. I've read the other Sophie Hannah Poirot books and they've been a respectable addition to the poirot legacy. This one however was really disappointing. I read in another review that this plot just didn't seem clever enough for a Christie novel and I completely agre Leggi tutto
Another not by AC Poirot book set early on long before Curtain. I did try see anyone else but David S no luck . She has great talent in making Mr.P sound like Agatha wrote him. Which is of course what you want , it is no good doing a mystery with Mr.P if not right. This the 3rd in the series but doe Leggi tutto
