Winnie ha vent'anni e dagli Stati Uniti si trasferisce in Vietnam, il paese del padre, per insegnare inglese e anche per trovare la sua strada, in un luogo dove spera di sentirsi più accolta. I unfortunately did not understand what happened at all in this novel. I’m a little sad because as a Vietnamese American I wanted to root for it though I just felt confused.
