A really interesting summary of the modern Greek country. A story that started in 1821 with the stubborn revolution of many Greek intellectuals living outside the ottoman empire. Mind blown. What an excellent, well-written account of the true modern history of Greece. My perception of my own heritage is completely revolutionized, and I understand so much more about the basis for current events and the troubles that Greece has been going through.
