Marx aveva scritto: "La lotta della classe operaia contro la classe capitalistica e il suo Stato è entrata, grazie alla lotta di Parigi, in una nuova fase ... un nuovo punto di partenza di importanza storica universale è conquistato". Un punto di partenza perché, scrive Cervetto, "La Comune di Parigi è durata pochi giorni. Lenin lo sa bene quando restaura la scoperta di Marx, mezzo secolo dopo, e pochi mesi prima che il movimento reale in Russia la riproponga all'ordine del giorno".
