Isolato dal mondo, stordito dai farmaci, Gerry oscilla tra realtà e uno stato onirico in cui è perseguitato dal proprio passato: il padre infedele, la madre devota; le donne che lo amavano, le donne che lui amava.
E ora ecco Aubrey, la cui voce suadente e minacciosa insinua che lui le debba qualcosa. La minaccia è reale o è un segno di demenza? Gerry non è mai stato così solo, così confuso e terrorizzato.
Un vero page-turner che scandaglia temi molto attuali, il potere, l’appropriazione, l’influenza che più o meno consapevolmente esercitiamo sugli altri. La ragazza dei sogni è una potente miscela di suspense psicologica, terrore e ironia, che si insinua anche nei meccanismi della scrittura. Un metaromanzo capace di avvincere il lettore in maniera irresistibile.
