Nel testo, scritto in carcere da Dominique Venner, l'analisi storica si mescola alla lucidità pragmatica: sono passate in rassegna tutte le esperienze rivoluzionarie, al fine di elaborare un'efficace teoria della lotta e una nuova coscienza del soldato politico. I riferimenti sono netti e qualificanti: il richiamo alla disciplina e alla tenuta interiore, la centralità della Formazione e della dottrina ideologica, l'urgenza di costruire un'organizzazione strutturata ed efficiente, la volontà di edificare una Comunità organica di popolo. Orientamenti profondi e ancora attualissimi, che indagano e colpiscono le manchevolezze di un'area "nazionale" impreparata e improvvisata: il rischio del tribalismo e della frammentazione, l'assenza di Capi e di regole, il persistere di atteggiamenti caricaturali e di miti incapacitanti, la cedevolezza dinanzi alle lusinghe e alla repressione del sistema. Venner suggerisce una via, oltre la palude delle illusioni democratiche, dei dogmi progressisti e delle tentazioni liberal-capitaliste: il riscatto della Civiltà europea.

A historical document, young political activists should definitely read it, but unfortunately the writing style is horrible.
This manifesto constructively criticizes nationalist movements in order to make them better, much like Horace Bushnell criticizes the anti-slavery societies in order to make them better.
