Nick Spencer struggling to do this series justice, serves to underline the Dan Slott 's run under-appreciators not realising the skill it took to maintain the series so well previously? Another very average Spider-Man event, as Miguel comes with a message from the future as Symkaria's internal politi Leggi tutto
For what could have been a cool crossover we instead just get Spider-man vs Doctor Doom...2099 is barely in here and he's gone in a flash. There's things that work. I like Spencer's Peter. He's funny, he's heroic, and he wants to do good. He gets Spider-man's traits down. I also was intrigued by the Leggi tutto
Definitely the weakest arc by far from Spencer’s run, this barley has anything to do with 2099 so what’s even the point. I know there are a bunch of tie-ins but I didn’t even care about the main story enough to go out of my way to read them. Gleason provides some really good art in here tho and I di Leggi tutto
Don't be fooled - this arc of Spidey might have the 2099 billing, but it's almost entirely unrelated to the actual 2099 event that Marvel ran at the same time, despite it being billed as such. Instead, the art contends with Peter and Miguel running into each other, and then gets back to the main ASM Leggi tutto
Not one of the better arcs with the 2099 counter part
Although his inception and popularity in 1992 spawned an entire comic line of known Marvel characters given the 2099 treatment, Miguel O’Hara, the Spider-Man of 2099, was the only character from this distinct future to appear here and there in later Marvel titles, including the various returns of hi Leggi tutto
This comic should have been a clever intertwining of two arcs: Miguel O'Hara's return to 2019 on the one hand and a bunch of international political machinations on the other hand. Instead we get a weird, unbalanced mish-mash, and Miguel's story just seems to stop rather than having an actual ending Leggi tutto
Our hero takes the back seat to all the other characters and somehow this is supposed to be a Spider-man book. They should have titled this book the wasted adventures of Spider-man 2099 co-starring Spider-man. It really pains me to have to write this review. Spencer's run on Spider-man has lost its
Some of this art is abysmal for Marvel’s most popular title. And the story is practically skipable. Disappointing considering how much fun Miguel and 2099 can be.
