Le luci di Natale risplendono ovunque e un’allegra folla si riversa nelle strade alla ricerca di regali. Si prospetta un mese intenso per il piccolo negozio dell’usato di Dodie, inguaribile romantica con la passione per gli oggetti che hanno una storia da raccontare. Nella sua bottega “Nontiscordardimé”, infatti, ogni articolo in vendita ha un passato che lo rende unico. E Dodie cerca di trasmettere ai clienti l’amore per quegli oggetti che hanno un’anima, un vissuto. Sistemando l’allestimento dei cappotti, Dodie rimane sorpresa di trovare nelle tasche di una vecchia giacca una lettera mai aperta. Come è possibile che le sia sfuggita? Potrebbe non essere troppo tardi per recapitarla. Con l’aiuto di Edward, il suo nuovo inquilino (per la verità piuttosto riluttante all’idea di riaprire un capitolo del passato che sembra chiuso da anni), Dodie decide di raggiungere l’indirizzo indicato sulla busta. Quello che ancora non sa è che la storia da ricostruire è molto più intricata di come avrebbe potuto immaginare. E che dietro l’angolo potrebbe nascondersi il lieto fine dei suoi sogni… giusto in tempo per Natale.

Overall verdict: a lovely, entertaining read and some really good characterisation that points beyond the chick-lit genre by author Tilly Tennant. This is my first time reading author, Tilly Tennant. What a delightful read and since I am not British it was so fun seeing the way they speak in written word. It added such a delightful charm to it.
