Sinossi
Inghilterra, 1835.

4.5 stars. I loved this book. It's a history of food and cooking, but it's also the history of classes, and of how upper class kitchens were the realm of servants or hired help. . .until it wasn't. Until one woman preferred creating dishes and writing down recipes to marriage. I deducted half a star Leggi tutto

My thanks to Simon and Schuster and NetGalley for a review copy of this book. The Language of Food is a beautiful story of food and of recipes, and also of poetry, but more than that of two women who want to dream of and do things that weren’t approved of in the time they wanted to do them or seemed Leggi tutto
