Accra, capitale del Ghana, è una città vitale, moderna. Vitale e moderna è anche Esi, giovane, colta e in carriera, determinata a realizzarsi. Con una narrazione vivissima e una scrittura che sa commuovere e nello stesso tempo tratteggiare un'impietosa satira sociale, Cambiare (1991) - romanzo che ha vinto il Commonwealth Prize - tocca con sguardo originale temi straordinariamente attuali, a ogni latitudine.
