È una ricostruzione storicamente impeccabile, ma anche brillante e ricca di curiose sorprese. E offre indicazioni utili: perché, ci ricorda Boris Johnson, per certi aspetti la sfida che dovette affrontare l’antica Roma non è così diversa da quella che deve affrontare oggi l’Europa, alle prese con i problemi dell’immigrazione e dell’integrazione.
