"Racconti" è la traduzione di "The Collected Stories" di Arthur C. Clarke, la più completa raccolta organica delle opere brevi del maestro anglosassone della fantascienza. Si tratta di più di cento racconti che mostrano l'evoluzione tematica e stilistica di sir Arthur Charles Clarke, che abbraccia un arco temporale vastissimo, dal 1937, con il racconto "Travel by Wire!" ("Viaggiare via cavo") pubblicato in prima edizione nel numero di dicembre della rivista "Amateur Science Fiction Stories", fino al 1999, con il brevissimo racconto intitolato "Improving the Neighbourhood", che è stato il primo racconto di SF a uscire sulla prestigiosa rivista "Nature". Completano il volume una introduzione dello stesso Clarke, alcune brevi annotazioni dell'autore su gran parte dei racconti contenuti nel libro, e poi una corposa appendice con un approfondito ritratto dello scrittore britannico e la bio-bibliografia completa di tutte le opere di Arthur C. It's weird that my first book of 2020 should be a 966-page volume but for the record I was reading it for most of December.
