Perfect rhyming picture book story, just in time for Halloween story time. A little girl outsmarts a ghost, a witch and a troll. My only question is why are the endpapers purple with white polka dots, when the handkerchief that was the main element in the story was blue with white polka dots?

Quite similar to the Gruffalo, with a mouse outsmarting "The Baddies". The rhymes are as catchy as any other Julia Donaldson, so still a solid read overall.
A little less plot than our favorite Julia Donaldson stories. But my toddler now uses Ogre correctly in sentences, which is fun.
A popular bedtime story with the grandchildren, read multiple times.
