In questo libro Julius Evola, partendo dai principi di un "tradizionalismo integrale" traccia le linee essenziali di una dottrina dello Stato e di una visione generale della vita a carattere "rivoluzionario-conservatore": rivoluzionario, con negazione decisa delle ideologie e dei miti che dominano il mondo dell'attuale decadenza europea e specialmente italiana (anticapitalismo, antiliberalismo, anticomunismo); conservatore, come ripresa in tutti i domini dell'idea aristocratica, gerarchica e qualitativa che ha già costituito la base di una superiore tradizione dell'Occidente. Il senso dell'autorità e del vero Stato, l'ideale "organico", la denuncia della "demonia dell'economia", il significato di un nuovo realismo antiborghese, positivo, antimarxista, l'indicazione dei punti di riferimento per la formazione di un tipo umano che vive nella modernità ma non l'accetta ed anche di una élite, l'attacco allo "storicismo" e la revisione della nostra storia al di fuori delle falsificazioni della vulgata corrente, sono fra i principali argomenti affrontati ne "Gli uomini e le rovine (1953)".

Another excellent book by Evola, and quite interesting since it deals with the post-war period, and the failure of the totalitarian Fascism and Nazism. A guide for the few 'men among the ruins' (of everything after 1789/French Revolution).
Definitely a must read for anyone who wants to get into Evola especially those who are interested in his political views. Another thing I would like to add is that I found Julius Evola's critiques against Catholicism to be rather weak and typical of a traditionalist that doesn't uphold one specific t Leggi tutto
If you are looking for a good book by Evola, this is not it, go read Revolt Against the Modern World instead. That still has some flaws, but they are only amplified here.
