Brik chiede al suo amico Rora, fotografo di guerra e originario di Sarajevo, di unirsi a lui per ripercorrere i passi di Averbuch. Attraverso una storia di pogrom e povertà, e nel panorama odierno fatto di mafiosi a buon mercato e prostitute ancora più economiche, le storie di Averbuch e Brik si intrecciano inestricabilmente, creando un romanzo originale, provocatorio e divertente, che conferma Aleksandar Hemon, spesso paragonato a Vladimir Nabokov, come una delle voci letterarie più dinamiche e fondamentali dei nostri tempi.
