Le Meditazioni Cartesiane riprendono il corso di quelle Meditationes de Prima Philosophia con cui René Descartes ha di fatto inaugurato la moderna filosofia della soggettività. Edmund Husserl adotta però il suo metodo fenomenologico, andando alla datità stessa delle cose per trovare un fondamento assoluto: l'io che fa esperienza delle cose che lo circondano e medita su questa esperienza, mettendone in luce le strutture essenziali. Le prime quattro Meditazioni offrono un'introduzione ai temi fondamentali della fenomenologia husserliana, dalla correlazione noetico-noematica dell'intenzionalità ai concetti dell'ego trascendentale, della monade e molti altri. Dopo l'analisi della soggettività Husserl affronta la questione del solipsismo: come può questo io meditante avere l'esperienza di un mondo in comune con altri soggetti, nel quale è possibile parlare di conoscenza oggettiva? A partire da qui si sviluppa il corso della quinta Meditazione Cartesiana, a ragione considerata uno dei vertici della produzione filosofica di ogni tempo: il tentativo di rendere conto dell'estraneo a partire da noi stessi attraverso un'analisi del corpo proprio. La presente edizione offre, oltre al testo delle Meditazioni, la possibilità di approfondirne i temi con Le conferenze di Parigi - il testo delle lezioni di cui le Meditazioni sono uno sviluppo sostanziale -, i Sommari approntati da Husserl per le sue lezioni, nonché i commenti critici di Roman Ingarden.

I don't remember this book very well, but it was the basis for a class that I also can't really remember the name of. What I do remember is that this book is about eighty pages or something like that and that it cost sixty something dollars.
