Jeffery Deaver writes really good thrillers and I had high expectations form this book. I thoroughly enjoyed most of the book and while in the beginning I had made up my mind that the novel merits a four star. Only towards the end I decided that this one is going to get a three star. This was pick for my Mystery Book Club so I really wanted to read and I like this author. I enjoyed The Bone Collector books and tv series. This is for the most part a very generic and highly predictable action thriller. Only on the last 100 pages the author comes up with a bit too many unexpected twists and a kind of forced and uninteresting ending. Found this very slow going in the beginning but once it was several chapters in big did it take.off. The dynamic between the two women was brilliantly written i thought as was the pain of those left at home to wait.
