Okay . . . I know that this is a picture book about a jolly old elf and I shouldn't be such a smitty, but was anyone else HORRIFIED by the fact that the Claus family left their youngest child behind when they moved? He was what . . . 8 years old, at the oldest??!? The art was cute, though.

Really cute portrayal of Santa Claus as a child. Shows how he befriended a flying reindeer and some elves. I really like Jon Agee's illustration style and this book did not disappoint. I think it will be big hit when I read aloud in December to elementary students.
