IL GIRO DEL MONDO IN 80 GIORNI

Ho (ri)letto questo classico a distanza di undici anni, perciò "aggiorno" in parte la mia precedente recensione. "Il giro…" di Jules Verne è un romanzo entusiasmante e pieno zeppo di colpi di scena: lo scorrere delle pagine ti prende e ti porta a seguire le avventure del pacato Phileas Fogg che, già nelle primissime pagine, scommette con i riluttanti soci del suo club londinese di poter fare giro del mondo in soli 80 giorni (che per l'epoca, siamo nel 1872, era un vero e proprio azzardo). A lui si uniranno il suo domestico (appena assunto!) Passepartout e, nella seconda parte del viaggio, la giovane indiana Auda… A fine racconto, dulcis in fundo, tra Fogg e Auda ci sarà anche il lieto fine (♥️). Fogg, Passepartout e Auda, servendosi dei più svariati mezzi di locomozione, dovranno vedersela contro un bel po' di inevitabili imprevisti e, soprattutto, contro Fix, un cocciuto ispettore di polizia che in Fogg vede (a torto) un ladro di banche. Jules Verne, nel suo giro intorno al globo, ci regala (ed è questa la parte più bella del libro) delle magnifiche descrizioni dei luoghi incontrati dai protagonisti e, più di tutto, un piccolo spaccato sulla situazione del mondo del 19° secolo.
