Per questo, per dare un senso anche al proprio passato, Hope parte per Parigi. Perché è nei vicoli tra Place des Vosges, la sinagoga e la moschea che è nata la promessa di Rose, una promessa che avrà vita finché le stelle saranno in cielo. Sarà proprio lo sguardo curioso e appassionato della giovane Hope a svelarne il segreto fatto d'amore, di vite spezzate e soprattutto – come indica anche il suo stesso nome – di speranza. E a rivelare anche al lettore un segreto ancora più misterioso, una luce inattesa negli anni bui dell'Olocausto, un evento tanto storicamente accertato quanto poco conosciuto, che tuttavia ha salvato dall’orrore le vite di molte persone.

It's not that this is a bad book. It's not. It's written well, and if you like Nicholas Sparks, this book is for you. It's got that kind of a feel, you know?
