Esistono, nei percorsi di scrittura di un romanzo o di un testo letterario, delle frasi precise per dare corpo ed espressione a un'idea. L'obiettivo non è quello di insegnare "come" scrivere ma, secondo una caratteristica propria dei manuali americani, con una buona dose di pragmatismo, "che cosa fare", quali tecniche utilizzare, come impostare il lavoro, chiarire e definire fino ai dettagli in quale direzione muoversi.

I thought this book was going to be a technical guide to formatting a screenplay. I finished this book having no idea how to do that. Field spends half a chapter on formatting.
