Arrivato a Parigi negli anni '70, Ben Jelloun ha lavorato come psicologo in un centro per le malattie psicosomatiche: qui ha incontrato e ascoltato per anni un centinaio di pazienti nordafricani, entrando così in quel mondo emotivo segreto che gli immigrati custodiscono, spesso ignorati dal resto della società. Cosa sognano? Cosa soffrono? Come sopportano la mancanza, la solitudine, il desiderio, le privazioni fisiche? Per Ben Jelloun nessun approccio scientifico o saggistico può davvero raccontare la verità di queste esperienze, solo la letteratura può tentare di farlo. Così nasce Momo, il protagonista di questo romanzo, un immigrato nordafricano "inventato" dall'autore per farsi portatore di una lucida denuncia del razzismo, in un'opera letteraria dal grande respiro poetico.

هذه ثاني رواية أقرأها للطاهر بن جلون, بعد رائعته "تلك العتمة الباهرة" التي أبهرتني للغاية. في "غزالة... وتنتهي العزلة", يتحدث بنجلون عن الهجرة, ومعنى أن تكون مهاجراً في فرنسا. أسلوب الكتابة جميل و به الكثير من الرمزية و الاسقاطات, لكن الكتاب ككل غير مثير للاهتمام بالمرة. وجدت نفسي أقوم بتجاوز مقاطع ع Leggi tutto
Right now I will give it 3 stars because I am not sure how I feel about this work. It was surprisingly vulgar and hyper-sexual, but I guess the author was trying to make me feel uncomfortable.
I wasn’t overly impressed with this. It’s about an ex pat North African living in Paris and his musings essentially. It’s very sexually orientated which got a little bit boring after a while and the writer tries to go into the psyche of the individual but I just didn’t find the character that engagi Leggi tutto
