Il principe Nechljudov riconosce nella prostituta Ljubaša, accusata in un processo per omicidio, la contadina Katjuša Maslova, che egli aveva sedotto dieci anni prima, provocandone la rovina. Ignore the cynics. Tolstoy's novel is a moralistic tale, yes, but the finest you are ever going to read. Life-changing.
What moved me the most in this novel is: how true is what Tolstoy says about the judicial system, even in our world of today. And this is not just in France, but all over the world.
