Sinossi

Another book from my favorite author. She examines dreams relating to death, through the dreams of analysands who related various dreams shortly before death, and through the "Komarios to Cleopatra" text which she calls "One of the oldest texts of Graeco-Egyptian alchemy." Intriguing content. Here a Leggi tutto
The most touching story in 'On Dreams and Death' is of a man, a client of MLF, whose conscience warned him in dreams and in persistent thoughts that he must stop living for the sake of appearances and instead honestly seek his own true happiness. It seems he had never had permission to do so. Finall Leggi tutto
This book is intense and amazing. The imagery of the dreams alone is enough to want to recommend it, but on top of that there's incisive commentary and some really fascinating subjects raised, including our understanding of the physical universe. I respect especially the author's light handedness wh Leggi tutto

As my reading of late has taken me into an exploration of Carl Jung, I couldn’t help but read a little bit of Marie-Louise von Franz (1915-1998). Marie met Jung in 1933 and begin attending his lectures and seminars. She eventually started training with Jung and continued doing so until his death. Ma Leggi tutto
Leggi tutto
You know, books are always judged in comparison and relation to books read before the judged to-be. As such, whenever I read an oustanding book which truly astounds me, in order to do it justice in my assessment, I push the others down. Just so with this book. I cannot rate this 5 stars, because it is Leggi tutto
Although a remarkable authority on analytical psychology, this is another of her texts that lends too much exposition of mythology to the extent that one can sometimes lose the theoretical lessons that she is trying to teach.
Fascinating and exalting. Not easy to find in print, but worth the search. I hope I remember to reread this every so often.
