In Giappone il tasso di comparsa di kaiju è tra i più alti al mondo, tanto che enormi creature portatrici di distruzione lo invadono quasi quotidianamente. Kafka Hibino, che ora lavora per un'impresa specializzata nello smaltimento delle carcasse dei kaiju, un tempo aspirava a diventare un soldato delle Forze di Difesa, le unità speciali incaricate di sopprimere i mostri e difendere il Paese. Un giorno, però, un misterioso organismo si introduce nel corpo di Kafka, trasformandolo in quello che le Forze di Difesa battezzeranno col nome in codice di "Kaiju No.8"... Per salvare Ichikawa e Furuhashi, Kafka si trasforma in kaiju e si prepara ad affrontare l'inquietante mostro umanoide che aveva attaccato i suoi compagni. Lo scontro viene però interrotto dalle Forze di Difesa e il kaiju umanoide ne approfitta per fuggire. Kafka, a quel punto, vorrebbe fare lo stesso, ma... proprio in quel momento, viene raggiunto dal vicecomandante Hoshina, fortemente determinato a eliminarlo.

So I’m back reading this series. I stopped for a bit cause I wanted to buy all of them first, then realised that was not very smart so I picked it back up. I started off a little confused cause I haven’t read Vol.2 for a few months but I still love this series so much!
I bought this one last night just because... Hoshina with a compression shirt. Holy shit. It should be illegal. 🫦
This finishes up the last arc with a awesome fight only to lead to a all out attack right away. Kafka shows up last volume just in time to save his friends. Cool fight scenes, but I wanted more dialogue between characters! Kafka and the other Defence Force members are really funny and have great chemistry together, so I couldn't help wanting to see their conversations off the battlefield. Hopefully next volume has a better balance between combat and cha Leggi tutto
High stakes, fast paced fight scenes and creatively drawn monsters collaborate to bring ( arguably ) the best entry so far. Effortlessly awesome, Matsumato maximises the magnificent and brings another banger of a volume to the table.

10/10 stars Now we're talking! The plot thickens, the stakes are up, and the levels of destruction are going through the roof!
