Suo fratello, infatti, è stato il principale sospettato della morte di Lacey, ancora senza colpevole, e per questo ha lasciato Echo Ridge, abbandonando lui e la madre. E ora che il ragazzo si è rifatto vivo, neanche a farlo apposta, iniziano a comparire strani e minacciosi messaggi in città: a quanto pare un killer è intenzionato a colpire, di nuovo. Di lì a poco, poi, quasi a provarlo, un'altra ragazza sparisce. Spinti da motivazioni diverse, Ellery e Malcolm uniscono gli sforzi per scoprire se esista un collegamento tra le tre ragazze scomparse a distanza di anni l'una dall'altra, e, a mano a mano che si avvicinano alla verità, realizzano che tutti in città nascondono qualcosa, che i segreti sono pericolosi e che per questo, a Echo Ridge, i segreti è molto più sicuro tenerli per sé.

This was a mediocre YA mystery. No real complaints about it but I can't say it kept me on my toes or that I didn't see the twists coming. I listened to it as an audiobook which probably helped.
