Sinossi

7 year old chose this from the library so I read it aloud. It was a fine story, apparently one in a series. Some fun survival tips in the story, and some lessons on patience. Not something I would seek out on my own, but seems like a decent series for 7-10 year olds.
Another good survival story! Although I don’t think we’ll have too many opportunities to use them, we learned some good tips for surviving in the jungle. There were great lessons about patience and thinking things through that can be used in any situation.
I'm glad the main character, Omar, got an adventure of his own because he was rather mean and competitive in the first 2 books of the series. A great story of learning patience with oneself.
“The Jungle Challenge,” by Bear Grylls. Summer camp has been a frustrating time for Omar. All he wants to do is win, but his teammates keep slowing him down. He is constantly yelling at people for being slowpokes. When a girl gives him a strange compass he is transported to the middle of the jungle. Leggi tutto
This book is so adorable. The main character, Omar, is at summer camp and signs up for a relay race. He ends up feeling angry at the other kids on his team for not performing perfectly. Omar receives a strange gift from one of the girls on his team, a compass. Omar ends up running off and gets lost
This was a clever book for the middle elementary set (or a read aloud for reluctant readers) that should really grab the attention of young adventurers! It was written by Bear Grylls, who among many other things, became the youngest to ever climb Mt. Everest, and his knowledge of survival skills def Leggi tutto
I LOVE reading facts about jungles, and I like these books, so you might guess that this is my favorite book in the series, but my favorite book in this series is probably the safari challenge, the reason why this book isn't my favorite, is because it doesn't talk enough about the insects that live
Not my favorite, but this one (along with all of them) definitely has some good messages in it. We LOVE the Bear Grylls books! A lot like Magic Tree House they are fun fiction combined with nonfiction information. In the Bear Grylls adventures the children have not only a personal challenge to overco Leggi tutto
After watching You vs Wild on Netflix, my girls were excited to read a chapter book featuring Bear Grylls! This particular book focuses on patience as the main character leaves camp via a weird little compass. Think low risk jumanji but you meet guru survivalist bear grylls instead of the human hunt Leggi tutto
