I am upping my rating from 3 to 4 stars on this re-read, because Lucy Patterson is a great narrator and I cannot resist a lovely Scottish accent and the Scottish scenery, plus I also liked the story much better this time, even though I still have some bones to pick with it. This is the second Rosamunde Pilcher book I have read, and the second where the male love interest slaps the female protagonist. I think if you look up 'comfort read' in the dictionary, it will tell you 'see Rosemunde Pilcher.' It would in my own personal dictionary, anyway.
