On one hand, I really like Rutherfurd's style of telling history. By following the same families through hundreds of years, it's possible to see how the country changed over time and how those changes affected generations of real people from different backgrounds. Much more gripping than the first book in the series. I appreciated getting a solid view of Ireland’s history and the causes behind much of their strife.
