A partially fictional autobiography, Shantaram provides a fascinating look into India(mainly Bombay) several decades ago, following the title character aka 'LIN' in his jour

I loved this book, yes it was very long, but the action kept me turning pages. Violent and at the same time Heartwarming. I will read the sequel.
