Per qualche ragione, Ataru Moroboshi finisce per richiamare continuamente su di sé ogni sorta di sventura. Un giorno, degli alieni dalle sembianze di oni giungono sulla Terra per conquistarla, offrendo però ai terrestri una possibilità di salvezza: se uno di loro, scelto in maniera casuale, riuscirà a toccare entro dieci giorni le corna della giovane e affascinante Lamù, figlia del capo degli oni, il pianeta sarà salvo. Il preside del liceo indirà infatti un concorso di bellezza volto a eleggere "Miss Tomobiki": una sfida in cui le fanciulle dovranno mettere alla prova la loro bellezza, la loro intelligenza, la solidità dei propri principi e... la loro forza.

The first half of this volume: 2 stars. The stories felt flat and uninspired--for example, the gang goes back in time to find the origins of Mendo's claustrophobia and fear of the dark. 3.25/5 The series has fallen into a fun, formulaic pattern, this isn't terrible but it does mean that it lost some of its anything can happen zaniness.
A huge improvement compared to the previous volume, although some chapters are plagued with Ryunosuke's father. But on the flip side you have chapter 15 "a night alone" which generally is one of my favourite chapters (and episodes) in the series. This also has a multi-chapter story about the beauty
For such a landmark manga series, it’s disappointing that there are so many mistranslations and typos. It reads as if it were outsourced to amateur freelancers rather than veteran professionals, and the editors couldn’t be bothered to double-check. Ryunosuke's dad needs to drop dead and stop ruining everything. Miss Tomoboki should have been a fun arc but the dad gets more content than Ataru himself I don't understand why.
Ryunnosuke seems to dominate every story she's in since her introduction but this is not an unwelcomed event as she is such a loveable character. This volume also features an interesting look into Mendo's past and what made him develop a fear of the dark and claustrophobia. The series is more entert Leggi tutto
