Schleppel l'uomonero farebbe meglio il suo lavoro se non venisse colto da agorafobia appena fuori dal gabinetto. E Fratello Isolile, l'unica banshee al mondo con un difetto di pronuncia, invece di starsene sui tetti a gridare quando la gente sta per morire, fa passare sotto la porta un bigliettino con scritto 'OOOOeeOOOeecOOOeee') spetta il compito di salvare il mondo dei vivi. Nel frattempo in una piccola fattoria molto, molto lontana, uno straniero alto, scuro e allampanato si rivela particolarmente abile a maneggiare la falce. C'è tanto grano da falciare. E una battaglia diversa da combattere.
