Brian K. Vaughan e Fiona Staples proseguono la narrazione di Hazel, ormai dodicenne, che insieme alla madre Alana e al fratellastro Scudiero fanno ora parte del personale del circo spaziale di Whist. Non che l'universo abbia smesso di cercarli, anzi: vecchi nemici e nuovi segugi sono sulle loro tracce, proprio mentre qualcosa di enorme cambia negli equilibri della guerra tra Wreath e Landfall, in corso ormai da secoli. Il cast, sempre più ampio, contribuisce alla narrazione corale di questa serie giunta ormai esattamente a due terzi, ma i personaggi che più avrebbero bisogno di essere riuniti sono così sparpagliati ai quattro angoli del cosmo che è difficile avere la certezza che riusciranno a ritrovarsi.

Saga Volume 12 marks the series' return after a significant break, and unfortunately, it feels somewhat underwhelming. Oh I missed this series. And it feels like so much time has passed and none at all, the characters have grown but still feel like the same ones I have come to love. Solid, but very slow on the actual plot progression. Dropping back to one arc a year has really killed Saga's massive momentum for me, and while the art remains phenomenal, I'm finding it a lot harder to stay invested when I've forgotten half the characters every year.
