Uscito originariamente nel 1990 per una piccola casa editrice americana, "Via da Las Vegas" si è trasformato da romanzo underground in vero e proprio caso letterario in seguito all'adattamento cinematografico di Mike Figgis, che nel 1996 valse a Nicolas Cage il premio Oscar come miglior attore. A book about being human. Flawed. F-ed up. Human. I’ve never seen the movie and decided to read the book first. I’m glad for the experience, although that was quite a dark ride. One of my very favorites. Leaving Las Vegas is a study of three characters lost in their own worlds. Sera grows from a naive girl lost on the streets in Los Angeles to a smart, sexy, and increasingly independent woman working the streets in Las Vegas. Excepcional novel. A tragic story. It was a fest of sensations and most of them where extreme sadness. We wanted Ben to survive, we wanted him to stay with Sera. Two damaged human beings in need of redemption and understanding. Beautiful book. A life lesson of some sorts. 🥺🥃
