Mentre tutto il Botswana attende la benedizione delle piogge e l’eterna rinascita della vita, per la signora Ramotswe e la sua agenzia investigativa ci sono cambiamenti in vista. Il signor J.L.B. Matekoni sta provando a rinnovare la propria immagine frequentando un corso per mariti moderni, mentre la signora Makutsi dopo il matrimonio è alle prese con l’arrivo di un erede, con due cobra invadenti e un’anziana zia. La signora Ramotswe si trova così ad affrontare da sola i casi che le si presentano tra una tazza di tè e l’altra. Un ragazzo rivendica l’eredità di una grossa proprietà terriera, ma l’avvocato che cura le volontà del defunto ha fondati sospetti che si tratti di un impostore e non del vero nipote. E poi c’è un salone di bellezza appena aperto e già in difficoltà a causa di una serie di piccoli guai che non sembrano affatto casuali...
Tutto bene, insomma, sotto il grande cielo dell’Africa, e nulla che non possa essere risolto con saggezza, buon umore e un’ottima fetta di torta.
