Rimbaud percorse come una meteora la traiettoria che porta da Baudelaire al simbolismo e ai presentimenti del surrealismo. Teorizzò e incarnò la figura del poeta veggente, maledetto e al tempo stesso supremo sapiente, capace di giungere, per mezzo dello «sregolamento di tutti i sensi», a una visione dell’ignoto che è nel contempo visione dell’assoluto e del nulla.
