I didn't like the illustrations at all. But mostly, I did not like the book or the story. The meaning behind the book is way too deep for the picture book target audience. WAY too deep. This is the type of book that should be reserved for an adult poetry book.

I actually really liked this in spite of the fact that I typically don't like books that show a lot of misery to kids. I felt like this was more for parents than kids. I hope. No sé si es porque estoy en modo tía o qué sucede, pero este libro hizo que me salieran lagrimitas de emoción. Desde la mirada de un niño dulce e inocente, el mundo y sus problemas resulta menos triste y más lleno de luz, de amor, y sobre todo, de nuevas oportunidades.

The ending made me gasp. Stunning.
