Things I learned from reading Five Go Off in a Caravan: 1. It's totally fine for 8 - 12 year olds to go on road trips with no supervision 2. After deciding against a walking holiday (fitting several tons worth of ginger beer and a small mountain of lovely vittles into their pack might be a bit tricky) and having failed to hire a fleet of Ocado vans the children head off.
